Florence + the Machine is in demand.

The Grammy Awards nominee for best new artist has been asked to perform at Elton John's annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards gala on Feb. 27 in West Hollywood. But before that happens, she's performing at a Fashion Week kick-off party on Gossip Girl.

According to a show source, Florence Welch (a.k.a Florence + the Machine) is friends with Blake Lively, who stars as Serena on the show. "Blake suggested to the [Gossip Girl] producers that they use Florence + the Machine music on the show, which they did last season several times," the source says. "And now [she has] the cameo this season."

In an episode set to air Monday (9 p.m.) on the CW, Florence + the Machine will sing an acoustic version of "Cosmic Love" at an event where Blair (Leighton Meester) tries to convince Nate (Chace Crawford) to help her with a "gift bag crisis."

"You are going to help me get 650 gift bags from 29th Street in 20 minutes," Blair says, "or so help me Archibald, I will tell everyone what your favorite movie is."

"Hey," Nate says, "do not knock The Sound of Music – it's got nuns and Nazis. Julie Andrews was hot."

In these films she’s captured Florence on several moments during her past American tour, while Flo herself reflects about all those moments and places, and shares her impressions about fame and stardom.

The three piece series have been made exclussively for NOWNESS and you can watch the first of the letters, Letter from LA, HERE.

Florence also has compiled a playlist accompaning these, that you can check out HERE.

Drake and Florence - Firework
Drake has begun work on new songs with the xx member Jamie Smith and Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. It's still too early to know where this music will end up, but at the moment the rapper's collaboration with Smith is intended for his second album Take Care, while his work with Welch is slated to appear on her next record.

Smith told the NME that Drake approached him because he is a fan of the xx. In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Drake confirmed the collaboration, saying, "Jamie is probably one of the most exciting producers I've ever heard."
